Tag, I'm It

Journal Entry: Thu May 8, 2008, 6:30 PM
I've been tagged by :icontodifferenttobereal:
1. Post these rules
2. Each person tagged must post 10 random (hopefully interesting) facts about themselves
3. Tags should write a blogpost of these facts
4. At the end of the post, 8 more bloggers are tagged and named
5. Go to their blog and leave a comment telling them they're tagged

Erm, right. Okay, so . . . Here goes, I guess.

1. I spend wayyyyy too much time on the Internet. Seriously, it's just occured to me now. It's not like I'm a house-hatcher or anything, quite the opposite, ak-sher-lee, but whenever I am indoors, I'm generally wired to the computer. :paranoid: I've barely watched TV once since I got my home IE - the sparkly web stuff distracts me! Now if only stuff would stop HAPPENING, so I could do something productive with my time online . . .

2. I hate my religion. Well, no, I don't HATE it, I'm just very . . . very very ambivalent towards it. Catholicism is just . . . meh. I've no interest in it; I've never read the bible; I find it rather contradictary of itself and just . . . muddled. It makes good and evil seem very . . . clear cut - which is silly, because the world - and its people - cannot be divided into black and white just like that. I enjoy Christmas just as much as the next person, of course, and the spirit of the holiday, but that's the thing Catholicism/Christianity/Whatever seems to be lacking. Heart. It's not . . . personal enough for me, if that makes any sense at all. I think the "God" we really should be paying homage to is the planet that sustains us to be frank, the one we're currently poisoning to death.

3. I adooooore White Tea. It beats the pants out of even Green Tea, quite frankly. I'm beginning to think it's addictive, actually. Hmm. Hold on just a sec . . . *gets up to boil the kettle*

4. I'm Irish. As in: born here, live here Irish. Irish Irish. And yet, I find it kind of funny when people go into raptures about the place. :aww: It's not that great, you know. Actually, it's kinda difficult here. Bloody expensive, let me tell you. :shakefist: At least Dublin is, anyway. Don't come here if you want the really Gaelic experience . . . I recommend the Westcountry for that. Kilkenny is lovely, 'specially in the Summer. Although, from personal experience, most people seem to come here just to hear the Dublin accent. :XD: Srsly, they seem to go ecstatic over it . . . It's so cute.

5. I like to think I'm smarter than I really am. :paranoid: Meh, leave me be with my sorry delusions . . . My ego needs it.

6. I'm a size 8. [US size 6] I NEED TO START DRESSING LIKE ONE. :slamhead:

7. I love the paranormal. Spirits, Faeries, Ghosts, you name it . . . And yet I am a TOTAL WUSS. DX I scare really easy. I was like fourteen or fifteen before I got over my fear of the dark. I couldn't even bring myself to face the Haunted Mansion in DISNEYLAND PARIS, for crying out loud. I hear weird noises at night, and I turn into the wibbly wobbly wonder. Oh, the SHAME . . .

8. I adore plants and trees and grass and green stuff. :aww: I want to be a botanist. Or to work with animals somehow, now that would be awesome.

9. The hardest book I've ever had to read was The Silmarillion [J.R.R. Tolkien]. I couldn't get past page three. The three Lord of the Rings books, those were fine. Enormously fun, actually. Shogun [James Clavell], awesome. His Dark Materials [Philip Pullman], epic. The K-PAX Trilogy [Gene Brewer], phenomenal. The Black Jewels [Anne Bishop], utterly gorgeous. Austen, Dickens (Charles AND Emily), wonderful [Mansfield Park =]. But never, NEVAH, shall I ever conquer The Silmarillion. IT has conquered me. *hangs head in defeat*

10. I just spent the last ten minutes [prior to being tagged] chasing a daddy-long-legs around the room with a magazine. Then I felt guilt for killing it [but I just couldn't sleep with it in the room ]. Then I read the latest chapter of Inuyasha, freshly posted on freelance-manga, and omg, I feel like a balloon with half its air let out. I waited two weeks for THIS?? Enough with the bloody cliffhangers already!! For a chapter entitled The Death of Naraku, I was seriously expecting more emotion! And omg, somebody get RID of Kohaku please! Or at least poke him over into his sister's panel. HE IS STANDING BETWEEN RIN AND SESSHOMARU!! :steaming:

. . . . .

Okay, I'm done. Er, it says tag eight other people and let them know, but I've hardly been on this site in months and I don't think anyone's been onto my profile in ages, so I don't wanna go bothering people . . . I'll tag 'em here, and if they stop by, they can accept it or not, whatever they feel like . . .

'Kay, here goes:

Well that just . . . sucks. :paranoid:

I've just had my Noein video removed from YouTube. :shakefist:

And while that's just . . . well, ANNOYING, what's grating on me was that the complaint was made by one MEDIA FACTORY, INC . . . WHO DON'T EVEN OWN THE LICENSE TO NOEIN! I just checked their list on Wiki, and Noein was most DEFINITELY not there!

It's the second time they've done this to me. WHY are these people stalking me? It said on their site that this group made some kind of protest or something about fansubs on licensed anime, but jeez, isn't that how alot of anime draw overseas attention? But then, my video wasn't even a fansub, it was an AMV! Rrrrrr . . .

Jeez, you leave for two weeks and THIS is what you get back to? Suckety suck suck, man . . .

I've Been HACKED!!

Journal Entry: Fri Mar 14, 2008, 11:39 AM
:jawdrop:

*points to the above* Oh. My. GOD. :noes:

Excuse the Jaaa-nice impersonation, but what the bloody hell else am I supposed to say??

Got a call from my friend at the laptop-shop this morning. He's found the problem.

"Well, there's good news and there's bad news."

" . . . . . What?"

"There's good news and there's bad news."

" . . . Okay . . ."

"The good news is you should have this thing back by mmm - I'll say next wednesday, the latest."

"Oh . . . Well that's good . . ."

"You wanna hear the bad news?"

" . . . My brain is saying no but my mouth wants to say yes."

*amused* "We could flip a coin, if it helps."

*not amused* " . . . Spill."

"Alright . . . Try not to freak out, okay? Your system's been infiltrated by an outside party. Which means, basically -"

"Are you telling me I've been HACKED?"

"Kind of. Yes."

"What?! HOW??"

"I have no idea. Nate's working on it, I'm just letting you know what he told me . . ."

*in shock* "Was it something to do with that Youtube thing?"

"Naww, I think that was just a worm . . . I'll tell you what, I'll try talk to Nate again and I'll call you back later, alright? Don't worry about it, I mean he said it was nothing too bad . . ."

Don't worry about it, he says . . . :disbelief:

To tell you the truth, I'm just trying not to think about it. What the hell does hacked MEAN, anyways? I feel like, all shifty or something, like some creep's been watching me while I work on my fanfics or something . . . *shudders*

Don'tthinkaboutitdon'tthinkaboutitdon'tthinkaboutit . . .

Meanwhile, in RL Land, it's all rather nice if not a little boring, now that I've had home IE for like 2 weeks and now have to do without it. :hmm: Well, I've got my mom's connection, but her laptop is brand new and, again, it's HER connection. I don't wanna go hogging it, or infect her with a virus or something. *is now a computer hypochondriac* To ease the boredom, I've been working on some SR and a Spirited Away fic, and I've been trying to find a couple of songs for my iPod to no avail. Does anybody know a good free download site? In particular I'm tryin' a find The Stranglers "Golden Brown" [ that's my S/R song. I've wanted to make an AMV out of it for the longest time] Alisha's Attic "Indestructible" and last but most certainly not least, "The Passenger" either Iggy Pop's version, or the Siouxsie and the Banshees version - which I prefer. Hmm . . .

Oh . . . And go fav/comment on this:

Oh. My. God I cannot TAKE this anymore!! It's been a month and I can't get into my LJ!! :tears: My browser won't let me doooo iiiiiit!! *throws a tantrum*

It won't let me access LJ! And I can't remember doing anything wrong, like messing around with my internet settings or my Firewall or nothing! I'm not using Firefox either!! What the hell is WRONG with this thing!! :crash:

I'm desperately, desperately hoping I haven't contracted another virus like the one that's blocked Utube on me. Seriously, it's a little bastard, I can't even type the name of the site without it shutting down my browser on me! And THEN d'you know what it does?? I get this tacky "Muahahaaa!" sound effect and a message that literally reads "Utube is BANNED you fool! The administrator did not write this program GUESS WHO DID?? MUAHAHA!!!"

. . . :noes:

:fork: :steaming: :chainsaw:

If anybody knows anything about this little upstart - or the socially retarded little "%£^£&$ who wrote it - please DO share. And if you could offer any help with my LJ program, I'd be much obliged.

To show my gratitude, I give you music: [link]

And for any Noein fans, my tribute to KarasuHaruka vid. A direct download, not the version that Utube mangled on me: [link]

Thanks in advance. Much love! :glomp:

J, if you're online. The Samoyed won 2nd place BEST IN SHOW at Crufts last night! :boogie: S'not first place, but MEH. :p That dog was all OVER the judge :giggle: I love that damn breed!

Bite me, January. I'm gonna be happy whether you like it or not.

[link]

For everyone who hates this time of the year, this compilation is especially for you. Stick it in your iPod, your MP3, burn it to a CD, whatever, and the drudgery that is resuming your working routine after the New Year will no longer be a blight. This will definitely brighten up your morning commute.

And don't worry. This is happy music, but not the kind that makes you want to throw up. It's the kind that makes you dance. If you like Gorillaz, KT Tunstall, The Fratellis . . . Just trust me. You're gonna like it. ^_^
